Real-time Atlas Line Trade #2 (Pullback Long)

John Paul places a long E-mini S&P trade based on an Atlas Line Pullback signal. He's using 10 contracts. The profit target is two points at first. This two points is based on the current ATR value. It's a bit conservative, considering the ATR is at around 2.89 at the time the trade is placed. He adjusts the profit target again, this time to one point, to reduce risk.

Real-time Atlas Line Trade #1 (Dbl Bar Long)

Here's a real-time long E-mini S&P trade based on the Dbl Bar long signal. THe profit target is 2.75 points, or 11 ticks. This is based on the ATR (Average True Range) value. This trade occurred around 10 a.m. US/Eastern. Many traders would have looked at the three consecutive red candles and went short. That's where the Atlas Line is useful, as it can call the correct direction.

John Paul missed the first short Atlas Line trade. He spots another opportunity, an Atlas Line Strength Trade. They're just as good as the Pullback trades. Price is below, so he wants to go short and stay short. The market has to prove that it's ready to go short. Once that bar closes, the proof is there and it's time to trade. The profit target is around a point. It's filled! A very quick trade. Trading can be quick and easy.

Unemployment Report – Trading the News

Thursday, we had an economic report – jobless claims. Look at the Bloomberg Calendar for red star events. These are the market movers and you'll want to stay out until the crazy activity subsides. Look at the large candle that resulted because of the news. There's no relationship between negative news events and teh market going down and vice versa. Don't follow the crowd. Watch how John Paul takes a long trade when the market reverses.

Pay Attention or Miss Trades

We had a nice news winning trade. The Atlas Line produced a short signal later at 1175. However, John Paul waited too long. Don't try to chase the market in this case. He was not filled and price took off. This may have been a good trade. That's why you have to be ready to place a trade as soon as the bar closes. Watch the Bar Timer and have your mouse ready to go on the SuperDOM.
